Kim and I attended the IBM Technical Conference in Madrid last week. Obviously we went for the IBM Cloud Technical University part, we’re not that much into Digital and Commerce.
We learned about:
- Hybrid Integration
- New features in Integration Bus 10, e.g. its Node.js support
- The Loopback framework and in particular all its connectors that are now embedded of IBM Integration Bus 10 and AppConnect Professional
- High Availability setup of IIB and MQ
- The value of Node.js for I/O bound applications
- MicroServices
- And so much more
Got our hands dirty:
- Played around with Node.js and the Watson Text-to-Speech API
- Leveraged MQLight for communication between I/O oriented Node.js applicaiton and CPU intensive and , learned to configured the MQ Appliance, set up and so much more.
- Created an API in Integration Bus V10 and exposed it via API Connect
- Connected IIB-in-the-cloud with IIB-on-premise using callable message flows
Got certified:
- Kim passed the Integration Bus developer exam, congrats!
- I took the easier road and went for the Foundations of IBM Cloud Reference Architecture
Met interesting people: IBM-ers, competitors, other partners, customers.
Stay tuned for more information about the things we learned and consider valuable to share.
